Mantra

Updated: Apr 11, 2019

Derived from the Sanskrit word man, meaning 'to think', Mantra is Mananaat traayate meaning "that which protects by repetition. mantras are codified forms of various facets of the Truth. Mantra repetition helps in unravelling something subtler and deeper than what our senses can reveal and protects us from negativity.

Benefits of Mantra Meditation

Chanting mantras during meditation aligns you with the vibrations of the Highest Self. Repetitive Mantra chanting, (aloud or silent), - allows the mind to calm with one-pointed focus- invokes the qualities that you wish to bring in - repetition of a mantra provides the mind with a new (desired) habit

Choosing the right Mantra for you

Everything is an expression of the Divine Consciousness, The Universal Intelligence. When finding your mantra, it is more important to observe the qualities of the diety rather than the form. For example, the elephant headed deity Ganesha, represents the qualities of removing obstacles from the path, as well as the drive to face challenges head on. When focusing on the Ganesha Mantra, you are inviting these desired qualities and tuning into the vibrations of the mantra.
